Packing

For daytime, casual summer wear will work great: shorts and T-shirts, light dresses, or lightweight pants are all great options, paired with comfortable walking shoes (sandals or sneakers are good choices). For evening, pack some nice dinner outfits (jackets and pants for men, dresses or jumpsuits for women). While it’s a beachy destination, save your swimsuits for the beach or pool only! And, if you’re traveling during the winter, late fall, or early spring, pack a sweater or a lightweight jacket – evenings and early morning breezes can feel a bit chilly.

Pack plenty of sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses, including children’s options if you’re traveling with kids.

Aside from those warm-weather essentials, you can pack fairly light. Outlets in The Bahamas are the same as in the US, so your chargers and other devices will plug in with no issues. US currency is also accepted throughout Nassau Paradise Island, so there’s no need to bring foreign currency.

Traveling With Kids

Some Nassau Paradise Island resorts have scheduled activities and programs for children every day, while others provide babysitting services on request. Do your children want to spend their day hanging out with other little ones? Are you planning an adults-only dinner or spa treatment? Save space in your luggage! Resorts and tour operators have all the requirements you and your kids need to make a splash. You might want to bring your own car seat, though – airlines accept car seats as checked baggage for no additional charge, and you’ll feel good knowing your little ones are safe and secure.
