It’s Better in The Bahamas: Graycliff Gourmet
Posted by: Nassau Paradise Island on December 12, 2015
One of the best things about going on vacation is that it gives you a chance to try special experiences you might not otherwise indulge in. Perhaps you spend an afternoon relaxing at the spa, something you wouldn’t normally do. Another traveler might learn how to surf or scuba dive. Someone else may choose to enjoy a delicious gourmet meal at a restaurant that’s unlike anything at home.
That’s exactly how Cathy decided to treat herself during a May 2015 visit to Nassau Paradise Island. Cathy, who stayed at Coral Towers at Atlantis during her visit, says the highlight of her trip was visiting Graycliff in downtown Nassau, savoring a gourmet meal, and seeing the restaurant’s internationally renowned wine cellar.
“We went into Nassau to spend a day and had dinner at Graycliff, which was excellent,” Cathy says.
“We were able to see people rolling cigars, and we got to see the wine cellar which was truly amazing! (We enjoyed) delicious food and a very elegant setting.”
The first five-star restaurant in The Bahamas, Graycliff Restaurant features five dining rooms and decadent menu selections to suit any palate. The award-winning wine cellar contains more than 250,000 bottles and is one of the largest in the world.
Cathy says she recommends a visit to Graycliff to anyone who’s traveling to Nassau Paradise Island.
“It’s unlike any other place we visited in The Bahamas,” she recalls of the historic property, surrounded by lush gardens and grounds.
Cathy also loved taking in the sunrise and sunset over the water every day, calling them “the most beautiful sunrises (and) sunsets I’ve seen.”
Cathy and her husband are already planning their return to The Bahamas this spring, and she says she’s dreaming of the sunshine and warm water already!
