Perfect Packing: What To Bring On Your Next Vacation
Posted by: Nassau Paradise Island on November 12, 2014
Packing for a trip is a chore that no one really enjoys. To help make packing less painful for you, we’ve put together this simple checklist for what outfits to bring for your next vacation to Nassau Paradise Island and beyond. You’ll be prepared for anything!
Tops or shirts: Number of days x 1.5
For example, if you’ll be traveling for six days, pack nine tops. Stick to neutral colors and patterns.
Pants, shirts, or shorts: Number of days x .5
Bottoms can be reworn, especially if you bring neutrals. Three bottoms for a week is plenty.
Dresses: Deduct one top and one bottom for each dress
Transition from day to night by adding a statement necklace or earrings.
Swimsuits: Three for a week
If you like two-piece suits, mix and match the bottoms for a different look every day.
Shoes: Be practical
Wear your biggest pair of shoes for travel to take up minimal space in your bag.
Sunglasses and Hat: Cover up!
Choose a wide-brimmed hat and quality sunglasses to protect yourself from the rays.
More helpful packing hints:
- Pack a cardigan or jacket, even in a warm climate such as The Bahamas. Some formal restaurants or historic sites require arms to be covered. You don’t want to miss out on an elegant dinner or world-class attraction by not being prepared!
- Scarves are your friends! They take up very little room, can double as blankets on chilly planes, and can change the look of a basic outfit instantly.
- Did you know the average 22-inch carryon bag holds two pairs of jeans, five shirts, three sweaters, and two dresses? Plan accordingly and switch to a checked bag if necessary.
