NASSAU, The Bahamas, October 17, 2023 – Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board has been recognized by industry leading travel trade news outlet, Travel Weekly, for its advertising efforts in promoting the tropical island destination. Responsible for building awareness and motivating travelers from all over the world to choose Nassau Paradise Island as their vacation or meeting destination, the promotion board won awards for its Paradise in New York Times Square live activation campaign and its Closer Than You Think advertising campaign.
In the Destination Marketing – Live Installation/Activation Program for Destinations category, Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board won gold for its Paradise in New York Times Square campaign. The campaign brought bright, live action visuals to the heart of Times Square with a 14-month digital billboard display. Target visitors were greeted with 15 visually striking video advertisements displayed on three screens every hour, 24 hours per day, seven days a week. These ads featured NPIPB’s hotel and airline partners, enticing visitors to pause, take notice and start booking their trip to the island. NPIPB will refresh the creative for this campaign and extend it into 2024.
In the Destination Marketing – Campaign – Advertising/Marketing for Destinations category, Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board won silver for its Closer Than You Think campaign. Using videography to showcase the island’s variety of activities, accommodations and iconic attractions, the Closer Than You Think campaign focused on the island’s accessibility for visitors. The campaign serves as a reminder that paradise is indeed “closer than they think”, with enticing offers, flight packages and more from Nassau Paradise Island’s wonderful hotels and resorts.
The Travel Weekly Magellan Awards honor the best in travel with a broad range of industry segments, including Hotels and Resorts, Travel Destinations, Cruise Lines, Online Travel Services, Airlines and Airports, Travel Advisors and Agencies, Tour Operators and Car Rental.
