Let your neighbors know you’ll be away and your return date.
Give a friend or relative the contact info for the hotel or resort where you’ll be staying.
Shop for travel-size toiletries. If you’re traveling with children, pick up a few games or small toys for the plane.
Call your credit card company to make them aware of your travel plans.
If you have a home alarm system, confirm that your emergency contact information is still accurate.
One Day Before You Go:
Make sure your gas tank is filled so you don’t need to make a pit stop on the way to the airport.

Water your plants.
Run the dishwasher, do laundry, and change your sheets. It’s extra work now, but you’ll appreciate coming home to a clean house!
