The People-to-People Experience is a unique opportunity to experience Bahamian:
Participants in the program receive transportation to and from the hosting experience, a home-cooked Bahamian meal, everlasting friendship with a host or any of the following: church service with host, island tour with host, visit to local schools, invitation to tea parties, as well as a People-to-People souvenir pin. People-to-People Office, Nassau Paradise Island About the ProgramThe People-to-People Program is a community involvement venture that brings visitors and Bahamian residents together on a one-to-one basis, providing a rare opportunity to explore the history, folklore and culture of our country. The program was inaugurated by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism in Nassau in 1975, Grand Bahama Island in 1976, Eleuthera / Harbour Island in 1988 and was extended to The Abacos, The Exumas, Bimini and San Salvador in 1992. Today, more than 1,200 Bahamians on seven islands volunteer as hosts of the program. |
