Junkanoo, the National Festival of The Bahamas, is an expression of Bahamian art and culture. Large groups parade along Bay Street in downtown Nassau on Boxing Day (December 26) and New Years Day (January 1) with elaborate costumes, dancing or playing goatskin drums, horns, bells, or whistles, as thousands watch and dance along. The parades take place early in the morning, typically from 2am -10am, so get there early to enjoy the show!
