The Bahamas From Space: An Astronaut’s-Eye View

We know how stunning the turquoise waters and white sand of The Bahamas are up close, but have you ever seen what our gemstone-colored archipelago looks like from space?

Commander Hadfield, who was the first Canadian to walk in space, has been described as the most social media-savvy astronaut to leave Earth. He engaged millions of fans in the space program and showed the world the wonders of our planet from a new perspective.

However, one place kept capturing his attention—and our imagination:

Yet Hadfield wasn’t the only astronaut who was captivated by the allure of our islands. Scott Kelly, who recently spent a year aboard the International Space Station, also took plenty of photos of The Bahamas from space.

In fact, he called The Bahamas, “the most beautiful place from space.”
