Atlantis Paradise Island Helping Out Post-Joaquin

Posted by: Nassau Paradise Island on October 09, 2015

While The Bahamas is often thought of as a small country, the land area it covers is actually quite large. The Bahamas is comprised of more than 700 islands on 100,000 square miles of ocean. Of the 700+ islands, only about 30 islands are inhabited, and only about half of those are tourist destinations.

On October 1, parts of The Bahamas were impacted by the high winds and heavy rains of Hurricane Joaquin. Fortunately, the storm did not affect Nassau Paradise Island, but some of the southern Out Islands were severely impacted after Joaquin touched down, leaving residents in need of clean drinking water, food, and supplies. The areas most affected were San Salvador, Aklins, Long Island, and Crooked Island.

To help with relief efforts on The Out Islands, our friends at Atlantis Paradise Island have launched a fundraising campaign. During the month of October, Atlantis will match all donations received dollar for dollar, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to The Bahamas Red Cross, up to $100,000.

If you’d like to donate to Atlantis Paradise Island’s fundraising campaign, simply visit the campaign donation page and click on the red Donate Now button to pledge your support. Your donation will help provide much-needed supplies to people in the southern Out Islands. Thank you for your support!
