Cooking Class Round-Up

Posted by: Nassau Paradise Island on August 14, 2025

There’s no better way to get to know a place than through its food, and in Nassau & Paradise Island, that means diving into bold island flavours, fresh seafood, and long-standing traditions passed down from one generation to the next.

If you’re someone who loves being in the kitchen (or simply loves tasting the results), why not spice up your vacation with a cooking class? It’s a fun, flavourful way to take a bit of The Bahamas home with you! Here are some of our favourite ways to explore Bahamian cuisine through hands-on cooking classes, plus a few more delicious ways to enjoy the vibrant flavours of the island.

Graycliff Indulgences Series

In the heart of historic downtown Nassau, Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant invites you to experience its signature Graycliff Indulgences series. This exclusive culinary journey celebrates the art of pairing fine wines and spirits with expertly crafted dishes, all within Graycliff’s iconic setting.

Each month brings a new theme to explore, from seafood and sparkling wine to artisanal cheeses and decadent chocolates. It’s a delicious way to sample something new while experiencing the warm hospitality Graycliff is known for. Want to see what it’s like? Watch Nick, one of our local storytellers, dive into the Bubbles & Lobster Indulgences at Graycliff Restaurant below!

Kids’ Cooking at Atlantis Paradise Island

Do you have a junior chef in your family? At Atlantis Kids Adventures, young chefs can jump into themed culinary sessions that turn cooking into a hands-on, confidence-boosting experience. After putting on their aprons and chef’s hats, kids jump right into the fun, learning the basics of rolling dough, mixing batter, and measuring ingredients. Along the way, they’ll pick up playful decorating techniques and then be rewarded with tasting the delicious creations they’ve made themselves.

The Kitchen at Baha Mar

If you’re looking to level-up your cooking skills, The Kitchen at Baha Mar serves up interactive classes and workshops that make preparing your meal every bit as satisfying as tasting it. Whether you're cooking solo, as a couple, or with the whole family, they have programs designed to suit every age and interest.

Kids and teens can join Mini Master Chef, where sessions focus on creativity, confidence, and fun in the kitchen. Children younger than 7 are welcome to join with an adult. Adults can book Date Night, a culinary journey that brings couples together over delicious dishes and desserts. Add a cocktail or two, and it becomes the perfect night out! And for a memorable group activity, Family Cooking Sessions bring everyone together to share a meal and pick up a few new skills along the way.

Prefer to Let the Pros Handle Dinner?

Of course, not everyone wants to cook while on vacation, and that's perfectly fine, especially in Nassau & Paradise Island! With options around every corner, you’re never far from something flavourful.

For casual bites and easy family meals, Vacation Café at Margaritaville Beach Resort is a go-to for relaxed dining any time of day. Craving pizza? Frank & Lola’s Pizzeria serves up crowd-pleasing slices perfect for sharing. If you're craving something sweet (and Instagrammable), Sugar Factory American Brasserie is worth a visit for its photo-worthy treats that taste just as good as they look.

In the mood for something more refined? Enjoy seasonal French dishes at Café Boulud The Bahamas or savour mouthwatering seafood at Fish by José Andrés. For a meal with a view, Sip Sip at Atlantis Paradise Island pairs breezy beachside dining with its signature "Caribterranean" menu—a creative fusion of Caribbean and Mediterranean flavours.

More Unique Food Experiences

If you’re looking to keep the flavour adventure going, there are plenty of tasty ways to explore the island beyond the kitchen.

For a meal with a view, set sail on a Sunset Dinner Cruise and enjoy island-inspired dishes served alongside sea breezes and unforgettable scenery. Back on land, join Tru Bahamian Food Tours for a guided tasting journey through Nassau’s best restaurants and speciality shops. Have a sweet tooth? Head to Graycliff Chocolatier to craft your own chocolate bar with fun, tropical flavours like mango, lime, and sea salt.

To take your getaway to the next level, plan your visit around one of the island’s signature food festivals. Two standout events are the Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival at Baha Mar in October and the Nassau Paradise Island Wine & Food Festival at Atlantis in March. Both bring together world-class chefs, incredible eats, and lively island energy. Get a taste of what makes them so special below!
