Itinerary: 72 Hours in The Bahamas

Posted by: Nassau Paradise Island on May 23, 2025
Day 1: Check in and check it out

After just enough time in the air to have a snack and crack open the magazine you bought at the airport, it's time to land and head to your accommodations. No matter your style of travel, we have a hotel or resort that will satisfy your entire party. If you're looking for a 5-star experience with indulgent spa amenities, celebrity chef restaurants, and nightlife that outshines the stars, our luxury resorts are the place to rest your head. New to Nassau & Paradise Island, Goldwynn Resort & Residences transports guests back into the days of grand travel and indulgent details and is a must-stay location. Another favourite, The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, sits on eight kilometres, or five miles, of a pristine white sand beach. Framed by Versailles-inspired gardens, here luxury is king. Looking for something more boutique? Graycliff Hotel is a unique hotel which has been host to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Sir Winston Churchill, Aristotle Onassis, The Beatles, and more! Atlantis Paradise Island, a staple on our shores for over two decades, recently launched a new immersive program that connects guests to the rich history, art, people, food, and festivities of Naussa & Paradise Island. It’s the perfect place to indulge equally in Bahamian culture and vacation splendor. There are countless options for accommodations in Paradise. If you can’t make up your mind, perhaps Baha Mar is the resort for you. With three hotels to choose from, you can tailor your trip to your smallest desire; from high-end shopping options to outstanding restaurants. You can’t make a wrong decision on where to stay while in Nassau & Paradise Island. Next, it's time to explore!

If it's your first time with us, or you've been before and want to see things from a new perspective, you can never go wrong with a guided tour. Bahamians love to show off their island — we have much to be proud of! Check out a Harbour Safari, see the highlights with a Discover Nassau Land & Sea Tour, or get your bearings and a bite to eat on the  Nassau Sites and Bites Walking Food Tour. Nassau is only 33 kilometres (21 miles) long and 11 kilometres (7 miles) wide, and sister Paradise Island is 2.8 square kilometres (1.1 square miles) so you can easily explore as much as you want in 72 hours.

Day 2: Full Day of Fun: Relax, Dine, and Explore

Day two is when you can really relish in The Bahamian riches. Start your day on the right foot by getting a spa treatment. ESPA at Baha Mar offers stunning ocean views and a relaxing atmosphere so you can fully focus on enjoying your service. Their extensive list of offerings promise to have you feeling like you're on cloud nine all day. Next on the list, brunch! You can grab something quick on the run or slow down and check out a spot like Tamarind Market Place at British Colonial or Joe Merchant’s Bakery and Joe Merchant’s Coffee and Provisions at Margaritaville Beach Resort. Full and rested, it's time to explore the sights and sounds.

Nassau & Paradise Island is lush with culture. One of our favourite ways to encourage visitors to get a finger on the pulse and get a true sense of life in the West Atlantic is to explore the art scene. Work by renowned artists and budding talent can be found in the halls of the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas. Here, amazing work is preserved and nurtured to show a visual representation of the change and evolution of our nation. The art gallery is in Downtown Nassau, so you can easily wander over to the Educulture Junkaroo Museum and the Heritage Museum of the Bahamas. If you're feeling extra adventurous, make your way to New Providence Island and swim down to Sir Nicolas Nuttall's Underwater Sculpture Garden at Clifton Heritage Park, where you can twist and turn around submerged statues. These statues have been placed at the bottom of the ocean to be reclaimed by the sea and marine life. It's truly a surreal experience.

With a full day ahead of you to recover, this is prime time to bust out your dancing shoes and hit the town. Around every corner in Nassau & Paradise Island, you’ll find live music, DJ sets, a dance floor, and a stunning atmosphere. Looking to try your luck? Two of the Caribbean’s biggest casinos are here: Atlantis Casino and Baha Mar Casino. If you fancy a night of glamour and a little movie magic, keep the 007 vibes going at The Ocean Club’s Martini Bar and Lounge, where scenes from the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale were filmed. The Dilly Club, a coffee house during the day and a craft cocktail lounge by night, is home to the cutest drink you’ll ever see, the Mama Maggie, which comes in a pink pig vessel! Looking to sway the night away with a killer live music soundtrack? Bar Sol celebrates Bahamian entertainment and upscale experiences. We’re always looking to bring new and exciting musical entertainment and experiences to Nassau & Paradise Island, which is why we’re so excited about Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy-winning musical Jon Batiste’s Jazz Club at Baha Mar. His first Jazz Bar experience, the Island’s newest club promises a one-of-a-kind stage unlike anywhere else in the world where jazz and blues shine.

Day 3: Taking in the final Sights and Sounds

Your last day in Paradise should be spent relaxing on the beach, exploring tide pools and watching marine mammals and fish play in the waves. With 300 sunny days a year, it's always a good day to throw a blanket out on the sand and catch up on doing nothing. Beautiful Cove Beach is studded with palm trees and is perfectly situated to catch the best sunrises. Junkanoo Beach is always bustling with something fun to do. Here, you can grab a snack, buy some souvenirs, and slip into the famous Straw Market. A great representation of the industries growing here since the early 1940s, the Straw Market is filled with skilled craftspeople who have honed their braiding, weaving, and plaiting talents. Finally, make the last stop of your trip to Nassau & Paradise Island Saunders Beach — just 20 minutes from Lynden Pindling International Airport. Get in a goodbye swim and chat with the locals. It's a popular place for good reason.
