Island Indulgences: Luxe Experiences To Enjoy

Posted by: Nassau Paradise Island on June 03, 2025
Where to Stay

Experience Nassau & Paradise Island’s newest luxury resort experience at Goldwynn Resort & Residences, perched on a pristine stretch of Cable Beach. This sleek, private destination harkens back to the grand era of travel by embracing the luxury of leisure in every sense. You’ll find picturesque accommodations packed with amenities, fine dining, and exceptional beach access at this glamorous destination.

At Atlantis Paradise Island, luxury is layered with five distinct hotels in which to stay. The Cove, offering all-suite accommodations, an adults-only pool, fine dining, and private access to two of the world’s most beautiful beaches, is a sensorial retreat made for those seeking Bahamian splendour.

If you’re drawn to something more secluded, The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, is tucked along a quieter stretch of coastline, between tranquil waters and lush Versailles-inspired gardens. Stunning architecture, sprawling gardens, and world-class golf and tennis make it feel more like a private estate. Baha Mar offers three luxurious hotel experiences on Cable Beach’s 3,000 square feet of pristine white sand. Rosewood, Baha Mar’s most sophisticated experience, is all understated elegance and personalised service across luxurious rooms, spacious suites, and expansive beachfront villas. SLS is home to world-class dining and vibrant nightlife with an ocean-view rooftop lounge, a nightclub, and the grand Baha Mar Casino. Grand Hyatt offers expansive amenities with polished hospitality, perfect for those who want it all within reach, including eight sparkling pools.

For a storied and special stay, Graycliff Hotel offers a different kind of escape. Built in 1740, this former mansion is now a heritage hotel with just 20 rooms, two swimming pools, and lush tropical gardens. It’s also home to the third-largest private wine collection in the world, an on-site chocolatier, a cigar factory, and one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated fine dining experiences. Over the years, everyone from Sir Winston Churchill to The Beatles has passed through.

Time slows down in Paradise, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the spa. At Sense®, A Rosewood Spa, the treatment menu reflects its setting: rooted in the land and restorative in every sense. The Ode to Rest facial offers deep hydration, while the Lost Remedies series draws on traditional Bahamian plants and herbs to support the body’s natural rhythm.  At Atlantis, Mandara Spa pairs traditional therapies with modern wellness. Guests can join Fit Republic classes, like beach trail walks, or book personalised training sessions. There’s even the option of wellness seminars and body composition analysis.

ESPA at Baha Mar is known for its breathtaking ocean views, exquisite saunas and steam rooms, and 30,000-square-foot space, offering plenty of quiet corners to relax between treatments. The Ocean Club Spa at The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas, offers a luxurious retreat where centuries-old Asian traditions combine with the charm of Bahamian hospitality. Enjoy a refined treatment in a Balinese-style villa, featuring teak massage tables, cascading waterfall showers, daybeds, and jetted tubs in private open-air gardens.

Where to Dine

From celebrity chef restaurants to heritage cuisine served in historic settings, fine dining in Nassau & Paradise Island serves substance and style.

At Atlantis, you’ll find several dining experiences created by renowned chefs. Fish by José Andrés showcases fresh Bahamian seafood in a refined and relaxed setting, while Paranza by Michael White brings coastal Italian flavours and a strong focus on seafood. Savour Chef Nobu Matsuhisa's renowned Japanese-meets-Peruvian dishes at Nobu, located just off the Atlantis Casino floor. In addition to the famed Nobu-style classics, you’ll have the chance to enjoy dishes exclusive to this Nobu location, including Bahamian lobster and cracked conch. For a refined experience featuring reimagined French classics, dine al fresco on Café Martinique’s waterfront terrace overlooking the Atlantis Marina.

Baha Mar continues the culinary finesse. Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chop House uses Bahamian ingredients to create globally inspired dishes. Katsuya by Starck Baha Mar delivers beautifully composed Japanese-meets-Bahamian cuisine. And Cinkō Asian Latino Grill, Baha Mar’s upscale kosher restaurant, offers a thoughtful, contemporary menu in a stylish space.

Craving something timeless? Graycliff Restaurant, set inside its namesake hotel, is the Caribbean’s first five-star restaurant and still one of the most distinguished. Known for its extensive wine cellar (over 250,000 bottles!), classic continental menu, and heritage ambience, it’s hosted everyone from heads of state to global icons. The restaurant features five dining rooms, including a gazebo overlooking the gardens, a private dining room in the wine cellar, and a chef’s table in the kitchen.

Where to Tee-Off

In Nassau & Paradise Island, golf is less about the score and more about the setting. The Ocean Club Golf Course at Atlantis is one of the region’s most prestigious. Designed by Tom Weiskopf and stretching across 7,100 yards of coastal terrain, it’s consistently recognised by Golf Digest as one of the Top Ten Resort Courses in North America and the Caribbean. Ocean views line the fairways, and the layout is scenic and strategic—challenging enough to keep things interesting, but enjoyable, even if you’re just there for the setting. With top-tier facilities, caddies available, and a pace of play that never feels rushed, it’s easy to spend a full day here.

Royal Blue at Baha Mar offers a completely different experience. A Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, Royal Blue is defined by tropical beauty and dramatic elevation changes. The first nine holes move through limestone forest, while the back nine opens up into sweeping ocean views. And because Baha Mar guests are just steps from the clubhouse, you can finish your round and be poolside (or cocktail-in-hand) minutes later. Guests also have access to custom club fittings, private lessons, and even exclusive twilight rounds.

Where to Shop

At Crystal Court Shoppes at Atlantis and the luxury Shops at Baha Mar, you’ll find high-end names like Cartier, Rolex, and Tiffany & Co., alongside designer resort wear and accessories that elevate your vacation wardrobe. Whether you’re browsing for fine jewellery, a statement piece for dinner, a gift for a friend, or simply forgot your sunglasses (again), you’ll find something that catches your eye.
Of course, not everything has to sparkle to be special. Local artisans offer handwoven straw goods, colourful prints, and artisanal confections that capture the spirit of the islands in subtler ways. Shops throughout Nassau and at the Straw Market offer everything from Bahamian-made candles and ceramics to hand-rolled cigars and locally bottled hot sauces, perfect for bringing a little Paradise back home with you. The best part? With open-air plazas, ocean breezes, and boutique service, window shopping is just as rewarding.

Private & Exclusive Experiences

Some experiences aren’t meant to be shared with a crowd. From private charters to guided island adventures, there are countless ways to make the most of your time here with just you and your select few.

A personalised day on the water is always a favourite. Pieces of 8 Tours Atlantis offers half- and full-day yacht charters that can be tailored to your style, whether that’s snorkelling through vibrant reefs, escaping for the day to Norman’s Cay in Northern Exuma, or chartering a super-yacht. For something slower-paced, Born Free Fishing Charters offers fishing charters and secluded island picnics.

If you’d rather stay close to shore, Sandy Toes on Rose Island offers a private beach day just 25 minutes from Nassau. With snorkelling, lunch, hammocks, and a laid-back island bar, it’s the kind of escape that feels both indulgent and effortless. Need a break from the sun? At Graycliff, guests can take part in private cigar rolling lessons or tour the on-site chocolate factory for a sweet spin on local craftsmanship.
